CAFC Digest ("the app," "we," "us") provides AI-generated summaries of opinions published by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

No account required

CAFC Digest does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, or any other personal information to use the app.

Information we collect

• Push notification token. If you allow notifications, Apple assigns your device an anonymous push token (APNs token). We store this token, together with the date it was registered, in a third-party database (JSONBin.io) so our server can send you a notification when a new precedential Federal Circuit decision is published. This token is not linked to your name, Apple ID, email address, or any other identifying information we hold — it is only usable to deliver push notifications through Apple's push service.
• Subscription and payment information. If you subscribe to support the app, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We never see or store your payment details, and the app only receives a signed confirmation from Apple of whether you currently have an active subscription.

Information we do not collect

CAFC Digest does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any third-party tracking. We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or device advertising identifier, and we do not build a profile of you or your usage for advertising purposes.

Case data shown in the app

The case summaries, opinions, and related metadata displayed in the app are drawn from publicly available Federal Circuit court filings. This is public legal information, not personal data about you.

Optional email feature

The app lets you share a case summary using your device's own Mail app. This opens your device's native mail composer directly — CAFC Digest does not see, collect, or store the contents or recipients of any email you choose to send this way.

On-device features

Search and, where used, translation of case text are performed locally on your device using Apple's system frameworks. Case text is not sent to us or to any third party for these features beyond the normal fetch of case content described above.

Who we share information with

We share the minimum information necessary with the service providers that let the app function:

• Apple (push notification delivery and subscription processing)
• JSONBin.io (storage for push tokens and case-summary data)

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

Data retention and deletion

Push tokens are kept only for as long as needed to deliver notifications. If you'd like your push token removed from our records, email us at storage.bawl6r@icloud.com and we will delete it. Uninstalling the app or disabling notifications also stops future notifications from being delivered to that token.

Children's privacy

CAFC Digest is intended for legal professionals and researchers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
